The most notable feature about the villa is its location, so close to the sea & to Vera with all its facilities, walking distance from the golf clubhouse, yet totally private & secluded in its lovely sub-tropical gardens, with tortoises & fruit trees. Some families have chosen to hardly leave the villa, choosing the sheltered east-facing courtyard for children to play in its shade in the afternoons, setting up sand & paddling pool while adults sunbathe topless if they wish! Directions to nearest beaches in villa info pack in lounge. Every window has integral mosquito screening so evenings are bite-free. The house is designed to combat summer heat. It is Spanish built w cool, tiled floors, ceiling fans in every room, also on the verandah, to keep flies off any food served there, plus free-standing fans & air con in lounge-diner & 2 dble bedrms
The more adventurous have many options. Vera has enorm Sat market, & markets are held nearby:Mojacar Pueblo (Weds), Cuevas del Almanzora (Th) Garrucha Fri, las Cunas Sun etc. Mojacar-an amazing town built on a fortif hilltop; when pirates were seen on the beach, livestock and populace locked 'selves safely in citadel of cobbled roads sloping in diff directions. Incredible view from the Plaza Mayor . Cuevas has a medieval hill-fort and museum, with cannon and suits of armour,right by the market.Peering through the gun slits provides stunning views. All manner of sports can be indulged in: there's an airfield nearby for people to practice flying thru the clear blue skies, quad biking, obviously golf, tennis, fishing, and Mojacar Playa offers masses of entertainment for all age groups, from clubbers to bingo fans! There's a twice-hourly bus from Vera; a taxi back is only a tenner, taxi firms in phone book in lounge
Villa was bought to live in,fully equipped as family home, w all conceiv kitch equipment, TWO fridges (for parties), wide choice of places to sit/enjoy a family meal, dep on heat/time of day. 1 table (seats 8) & seats are lightweight & portable. There are 3 Cd players,+ DVD player w the TVs, one is on a Sky Family package. Stella, who cleans/manages is nearby to help/advise. Golf clubs avail, all a small child cd need, see above. Can really make yr own kind of holiday here. Return visitors incl. a married couple in late middle age, also a young family with 6 children, plus young adults who use it as a conference centre w leisure on tap. As it's all on the grnd flr, it's so effortless to use the var features, prep a meal, watch a programme, then have a lst swim, pick some almonds & pomegranates from the garden, shower, eat & relax with a glass of cava.
