The farmhouse is large, airy and secluded and has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Much of the furniture is in the traditional French style, with antique wardrobes and some wide single antique beds (although the mattresses are new). The house has been completely renovated and modernised and the kitchen is well equipped. Wireless broadband is available at a nominal charge. There are some low beams in 2 of the bedrooms upstairs which are more suitable for small children. There is parking space for 8 cars in the circular drive at the front of the house.
Moissac is a charming market town with some good food shops and restaurants (and not many tourists). Market days are Saturday and Sunday. Through Moissac flow both the river Tarn and the Canal du Midi. In the summer, boats can be hired for trips along the Canal. Close by is the lake at St Nicolas-de-la-Grave where there is canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding. There is also horse riding at Lauzerte.
The local village of Durfort Lacapelette (3 km) has a boulangerie, a small supermarket and a tennis court. Further afield are Montauban and Toulouse with their major tourist attractions. To the west are Bordeaux and its famous vineyards and to the east the vineyards of Gaillac. To the south lie Gascony and, beyond, the mountains of the Pyrenees.
