Food & Wine: This part of the Dordogne is on the eastern edge of the massive wine growing region that stretches all the way from Bordeaux. Wine here is cheap and plentiful, and you could spend weeks touring the wine Chateaux. Similarly, good food is a French national obsession, and nowhere is this more obvious than in the Dordogne. The region specialises in truffles, foie gras and walnuts - all of which, and more, can be sampled in the hundreds of local restaurants (which offer extraordinary value) or at a 'Marché nocturne'; throughout the summer, most of the local villages take turns to convert the village squares into outdoor food markets. They also lay on the entertainment so that you can eat, drink, sing and dance as the sun goes down...

Glorious Chateaux: The Perigord region was divided in two until the end of the Middle Ages - by the English and French during the hundred years war and also religiously between the catholics and protestants. As a result the whole region is full of fortified castles and churches. Many of the local Bastide Towns host'Fêtes Médiéval' with jousting, period arts and crafts, activities for the children and (of course) medieval banquets.

Outdoor Sports: as well as the facilities we provide (45' pool, table tennis, darts, mini-gym) there are lots of other activities within easy reach; tennis, mountain biking, aerial walkways through the forests, water parks, water skiing and canoeing.
