A great area for walking, cycling, canoeing and there is always fossilhunting which children love. Horseriding, chateaux, good restaurants, weekly markets within 15 mins drive. Both Perigueux and Angouleme,capitals, 50 mins. Largest monolithic church in Europe 15 mins. |

The farmhouse can be let together with the nearby barn (sleeps 10 Ref 2856) for large parties. Both have private terraces and access. All mattresses have anti-bedmite covers. There is a computer desk in each room and fans are provided.

This charming old farmhouse is situated so that the front faces the morning sun in the east, and the back, the afternoon and evening sun in the west. The kitchen and sitting room have french windows onto the courtyard at the front and the terrace at the back. All rooms have the original oak beams and rafters. Original staircase still in use. There is an additional spiral staircase in the kitchen. You can see the old pigeon landings at the front. The front looks out over a rose lined wall up the hill where you can see cows in the field. The back looks down over the gardens to woods and softly rolling hills planted with maize and sunflowers.

Longer day trips can be made to Poitiers for the famous planetarium, the coast at Royan, Cognac. There is an interesting castle nearby at Bourdeilles. If you get up early enough you can visit Sarlat, Rocamadour or Lascaux, and Bordeaux is only 1 1/2 hours drive.

Suitablility for children. Garden is fenced. Cot, highchair/babybath, anti-bedmite covers. Free babysitting. Very little traffic, rural track through woods good for children on bikes. Pool is enclosed with locking gate. Paddling pool and sandpit also available on request.
