From Spring to Fall one can enjoy the many local folklore festivites which are numerous and fun. Bevagna celebrates their 'Gaita' in which all the townspeople dress and re-enact the medieval period. Foligno celebrates the 'Quintana' a renaissance jousting tournament all in costume of the period. San Gemini also takes pleasure in their tournament in the Fall. Spello takes pride in portraying religious paintings by using petals of various flowers which are collected only a few days before they are used, to cover the streets. All of these towns open up taverns and 'osterie' (eateries) to whet the appetite and quench the thirst of curious pilgrims. One can go from one festival to the next as most of the villages boast their very own.
