| The finca-style house consists of a main house of 4 bedrooms which includes a separate TV viewing room. There is also an apartment with a living room and kitchenette and 2 bedrooms sharing a bathroom. The house is set within large grounds (17,000 m2) and is secluded without being isolated. There are three neighbouring houses but all at a comfortable distance. The house has a very special atmosphere and is equipped and furnished to a high standard but never at the expense of comfort. The showers are all good strong showers, and another thing we feel is important is to have good quality beds throughout. The town of Santa Gertrudis is 10 minutes' drive from the property and is one of the most popular on the island with its bars, restaurants and shops. Ibiza town is 20 minutes away and the airport is 30 minutes. The house is approached by a 1.2 kilometre white road that is on the flat and in excellent condition. |

Owners notes
|
The house is currently served by a large, quiet generator and batteries in a modern system which works well but some consideration is necessary. We are waiting for the new electric line to reach the house sometime during 2007. But we have not had many problems and a technician is always on hand to check on the system.

Ibiza is an island that caters for many tastes. It is a well-kept secret that it in no way resembles the reputation that it has of only being a party island. Most visitors to the island return year after year. Although well-known for its nightlife which is unbeatable, it is not the only thing that the island is about. Ibiza is also famous for its beautiful beaches and coves, for its stunning scenary of pine-clad mountains, sea cliffs, the beautiful stone terraces of olive and almond trees, for its architecture, particularly the Old Town of Ibiza, unbeatable restaurants, and not forgetting its well known hippy markets. There is a golf course on the island and wonderful spas in which to spend relaxing days. The boating around the island is breathtaking and many people come specifically to dive the 'sea meadows' off Formentera.

The house, called Can Tanca de Dalt, was built in a 'finca' style and was completed in 2005. It was designed by Rolph Bladstad and built for the current owners. The kitchen has a full rangecooker, there are two fridges, and definitely this kitchen is one that makes you want to cook! The photos don't do the property justice as much work to the house and grounds have been done since they were taken. I shall be updating these soon.

I would also like to add that outside of the high season I am willing to make a discount for smaller parties. Also, it will be necessary to leave a deposit of 1,000 euros. To make a booking I would need a 20% deposit and the balance paid 6 weeks in advance of booking. I will return deposit as soon as my agent on site has cleared the house. Included in the price is a weekly clean and linen change and if any further service is required this will be charged at 15 euros per hour.

The house is light, airy and always cool because of the thick walls. All the rooms have a lovely outlook. We are currently planting a young fruit orchard, and creating a covered outdoor seating area, and also a covered outside area for the apartment terrace. Many mature trees have also been planted, but generally there are a number of typical island pines on the land.
